COMMUNITY PARADE

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 4TH

On Saturday September 4th, at 3:30pm there will be a parade held in honor of Throop resident Zach Stein.  Zach is a 2 year old boy who has recently been diagnosed with a rare brain tumor called an anaplastic ependymoma.  The parade is part of a community fund raiser for Zach.

The parade will begin at 412 Champion Circle in School Side Estates, then move onto Underwood Rd., progress down Sanderson St. to lower Throop, and follow Bellman St. to Rebecca St, then follow Boulevard Ave. to Polonia Park in Dickson City.

There will be a chicken BBQ and various raffles at the Park to help raise money for Zach.   Please come out to support this event.  Zach's mother, Jennifer, is a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Throop Fire Company #2.

The Dickson City Community Ambulance is expecting.....   Twins!

It’s official…..  after two months of discussions, examining demonstration vehicles, and meeting with manufacturers, the members of the Dickson City Community Ambulance have chosen the next set of ambulances that will serve the boroughs of Dickson City and Throop for years to come.

At the July 2010 monthly meeting, the members of the Dickson City Community Ambulance Association voted to move ahead and begin the process of purchasing two identical Ford “Field Duty - 160” Type III ambulances from the Medtec Ambulance Corporation of Goshen, Indiana.  These ambulances were ordered through Chris Woolfolk at our local Medtec dealer, Glick Fire Equipment.

These two vehicles have been carefully designed by our members to meet our needs taking into consideration patient care, safety, and ease of use.  They will feature Ford E-450 diesel chassis, LED lighting inside and out, and more storage space than our current ambulances. The members of our organization are very excited about these new trucks.  We expect to take delivery of these vehicles in mid November.
